The Daughter of the Moon Goddess is the first book in the Celestial Kingdom duology and is inspired by the legend of Chang’e, the Chinese moon goddess. I think it is market as adult fantasy with young adult themes. Xingjin is the daughter of the moon goddess and she sets out on a journey to free her mother from imprisonment, pitting herself against the most powerful immortal in the realm.
This first book contains a captivating story that fully transports you to the Celestial setting of Chinese high fantasy. At only just over 500 pages long, this book is full to the brim with compelling plotlines, vivid worldbuilding and fantastic character development. There is a lot to love about this book. The writing is great throughout and I found it so easy to settle into the flow of the story. The plot flows well and I never felt that it dragged or got bogged down by to much detail. The world is so vivid and one of my favourite things about this book. The characters are well written and I loved how their relationships developed throughout the book. My one small issue is the presence of a love triangle. As love triangles go, this one wasn’t the worse, but I’m just never a fan of them. Generally though I thought the romance elements were done well and I’m interested to see where things go next.
Overall I really enjoyed this introduction to this duology and I can’t wait to see how it progresses in the second and final book. I would definitely recommend checking this one out, especially if you are a fan of Chinese dramas. Have you guys read this book? I’d love to know what you thought. Let’s chat in the comments. I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time.

Hi! Sorry to bother you. We follow each other on Instagram and I’ve been getting messages saying you’re blocked out of your phone and need 2 friends to click a link for you to log in…(and then they asked for me to send a screenshot of the link, not copying it?!)
On the very off chance it is you, I am sorry but I’m not going to click a random link (I haven’t received it anyway) but I’m guessing, since you haven’t been very active, that you’re account has been hacked and I wanted to let you know.
Sorry to leave a comment like that but I didn’t know where to contact you. I did temporarily blocked your account in case. Hope you’re well
Cheers
