*Thank you to the author for sending me an early copy in exchange for an honest review*

Set in the city-state of Wyverna, it follows a young man called Gorgo who stumbles upon a plot to assassinate the Warlord (founder of Wyverna), using an ancient copper golem created to be the ultimate assassin. Gorgo takes it upon himself to save the Warlord and the city.

The Copper Assassin contains a compelling plot, well written characters and an interesting world. From very early on I was invested in the story and once I started reading I didn’t want to stop. I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump and this book was just what I needed – an enjoyable, fairly quick read with a plot that will keep you engaged throughout. While this book mainly follows Gorgo, there are a few other perspectives dotted throughout the story. Each character has a distinct voice and an interesting back story. Gorgo is a great main character, although he does seem a little older then his eighteen years. The world is an interesting one and I would love to see more of it in further books. The author does a great job at giving enough information about the world to give you a good understanding of it while avoiding info-dumping. The writing is great and I found it easy to get into the flow of the story.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend checking it out, especially if you’re looking for a new fantasy read. Side note but the cover is also really cool. I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time. Stay safe.
