TTT: Top Ten Sequels I’m Dying To Read

b1a3f-toptentuesday2

It is that time of the week for another Top Ten Tuesday. It is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010. This week is freebie week which means you can do what you want. I’ve chosen a past topic to do this week and that topic is sequels I am dying to read. Where possible I have provided a cover but some of these don’t have covers yet. I have also linked to each books Goodreads page and where possible to Wordery using my affiliate link if you want to preorder them.
  • The Bear and the Serpent / Adrian Tchaikovsky / Book 2 in the Echoes of the Fallen series – GR page
  • The Thorn of the Emberlain / Scott Lynch / Book 4 in the Gentleman Bastard sequence – GR page
  • The Mirror and the Light / Hilary Mantel / Book 3 in the Cromwell trilogy – GR page
  • Age of Swords / Michael J. Sullivan / Book 2 in the Legends of the First Empire series – GR page
  • The Legion of Flame / Anthony Ryan / Book 2 in the Draconis Memoria series – GR page
  • The Dandelion Dynasty book 3 / Ken Liu – GR page
  • Bone Season book 4 / Samantha Shannon – GR page
  • Successor’s Promise / Trudi Canavan / Book 3 in the Millennium’s Rule trilogy – GR page
  • Nightblood / Brandon Sanderson / sequel to Warbreaker – GR page
  • Doors of Stone / Patrick Rothfuss / Book 3 in the Kingkiller Chronicles – GR page
Honourable mentions: Lord of the Darkwood by Lian Hearn, With Blood Upon the Sand by Bradley Beaulieu and The Aztlanian by Brandon Sanderson.

I am sure there are more that I’ve forgotten about but these are the first ones to come to mind. There are quite a few sequels that I am very excited for. What sequels are you dying to read? I’d be interested to know. I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time.

  1. Nice list! The Thorn of Emberlain is very high up my list. I was interested in your mention of Adrian Tchaikovsky, I’m not at all familiar with his work yet I’m due to read one of his books as part of next months chosen book for my book club! So, it’s nice to see him popping up elsewhere too; happy coincidences 🙂

    • Thanks! Yeah feels like it’s been forever waiting for the Thorn of Emberlain! Oh nice what book is it? I’ve only read two books by him so far but I enjoyed both! 🙂

      • I only just got around to reading the Gentleman Bastards series last year, so thankfully I haven’t waited long at all, however Lies instantly became one of my all time favourite books, and Republic left me craving more, more, more!

We’re going to be reading his SciFi book, Children of Time… I’ll definitely dip into his fantasy work afterwards and see how the two compare!

  2. I’m really excited to read A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab and Gemina (sequel to Illuminae). They’ve both been on my TBR list for what seems like ages but I just haven’t gotten around to reading them yet! Great list! 🙂
