TTT: Recent Additions to my TBR

b1a3f-toptentuesday2

It is that time of the week for another Top Ten Tuesday. It is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010. This weeks topic is recent additions to your TBR. I am taking that as recent editions to your tbr shelf on Goodreads. With this post I am going to be trying something new. As well as linking to each books Goodreads page, I am also going to be adding a link to Wordery for each book using my affiliate link. For anyone unfamiliar, Wordery is an online book shop and the affiliate link means that I will get a small commission (5%) if you purchase anything using my link. Let me know if this is OK – you really don’t have to use them but it is a nice way to support me and this blog. I hope this is OK for you all. Anyway let’s get onto the books.
  • Guns of the Dawn / Adrian Tchaikovsky – This year I have read two books by this author and I have really enjoyed both of them. So I want to try out more of his books. – Goodreads page
  • Empress of a Thousand Skies / Rhoda Belleza – This is a debut science fiction book set to be released in March next year. At least I think it’s a debut. The premise sounds good and I am always up for trying new science fiction books – Goodreads page
  • Crooked Kingdom / Leigh Bardugo – I recently read Six of Crows and I really enjoyed it, so I need to know how it ends. I know I am late to this series, but better late than never right? 🙂 – Goodreads page
  • The Moon in the Palace / Weina Dai Randel – This is a historical fiction based in ancient China and that is all I really need to know. – Goodreads page
  • Norse Mythology / Neil Gaiman – I have heard so many good things about this author so I thought it was about time to try something by him. This seems like a great place. I am fascinated by mythology but I don’t know a huge amount about Norse mythology. – Goodreads page
  • The Bear and the Serpent / Adrian Tchaikovsky – This is the second book in the Echoes of the Fallen series. I recently read the first book and loved it, so of course I am excited to read book 2. – Goodreads page
  • The Three Body Problem / Liu Cixin – I am trying to read more science fiction – I saw this in a book shop one day and I picked it up. I don’t know a lot about it but hopefully I’ll enjoy it. The spine of the edition I have is amazing :). – Goodreads page
  • A Crown for Cold Silver / Alex Marshall – You guys know by now that I am always up for trying new fantasy books and this sounds like it may be my thing. – Goodreads page
  • Do Not Say We Have Nothing / Madeleine Thien – To be honest, the main reason this is on this list is that one of my favourite booktubers/book blogger (Marisa aka littlespider9) recently read this and gave it five stars. – Goodreads page
  • Invisible Planets / Ken Liu – This is a collection of short stories from China and translated by Ken Liu. I’m interested to try more short story collections and this just sounds like something that I will enjoy. – Goodreads page
Those are my most recent additions to my ever growing TBR. Let me know if you have any recommendations for me 🙂 and which book you think I should pick up first – I am excited for all of these books. I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time.

  1. Tchaikovsky….I’d try a book of his only for his name! I haven’t heard of him before. Does he write high fantasy or steampunk?

I found Neil Gaiman to be a rather quirky writer…but I’ve read only Stardust. I had no idea he had a book out on Norse mythology…it was my favourite kind of mythology when I was a kid — surpassed the Greeks by a long shot!

“Invisible Planets” sounds interesting…what kind of short stories are they? Native folklore? Or urban?

I hope you enjoy all of them!

    • haha it is a great name… I think he writes a mix of the fantasy genre. Yeah I’ve never read any Gaiman but I’ve heard great things. I don’t know about the short stories! Thanks 🙂

  2. I’ve not come across The Empress of a Thousand Skies or The Moon in the Palace, but both sound great so I may have to add them to my TBR! I’ve also got Crooked Kingdom on my list of recently-added books, but I think it was 12th, so just outside the top ten! I’m hoping to read Six of Crows this month and then get to Crooked Kingdom next month! 🙂 Great post!
