Hi guys, today I have a tag for you. Now I am unaware of who created this tag but if you know feel free to let me know in the comments so I can give them credit. This tag is all about opposites. Let’s move onto the questions.
The first book in your collection and the last book you bought
I think the first would be my papberback edition of Watership Down by Richard Adams… I think – it was actually my mums before I kind of nicked it. It is definitely one of my most loved books in my collection. The last book I bought was To the Sky Kingdom by Tang Qi, which is a stunning book.
A cheap book and an expensive book
I’m not sure it counts but I recently got What’s Left of Me by Kat Zhang which was £2.49 as an e-book. Other than that I am not sure. An expensive book would probably be my illustrated edition of Watership Down, which is amazing.
A book with a male protagonist and one with a female protagonist
Eragon by Christopher Paolini (first book in the Inheritance Cycle) for the male protagonist. For the female protagonist, The Gift by Alison Croggon (first book in the Pellinor series). These are two of my favourite series and I love both of these characters so much.
A book you read fast and one that took you a long time to read
I raced through The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan (Ranger’s Apprentice book 1) – it is a middle grade fantasy series (not that I really know what middle grade means) and I really enjoyed it. A book that took me about a month to read was War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. For this, it wasn’t that I was struggling with it or that I wasn’t enjoying it, but it is just a very long book. The edition I have is around 1,400 pages long (I think) so it took me about a month to read, but I ended up loving it.
A book with a pretty cover and one with an ugly one
I couldn’t find an ugly cover in my book collection, which I’m quite happy with :). For the beautiful cover I have chosen some of my favourite covers from my book collection. There are so many amazing covers I couldn’t pick just one.
A national book and an international book
I’m guessing it’s a national book for your own country – I’m a Brit so I’m going with Wolf Hall by Hillary Mantel – not only is she a British author but the book focuses on a part of British history. For an international book I am going with The Shape of Water by Andrea Camilleri who is an Italian author and it is the first book in the Inspector Montalbano series.
A thin book and a thick book
A thin book that I have read and own is Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata – the edition I own is about 120 pages. For a big book I am going to go with The Count of Monte Critso by Alexandre Dumas – it is over 1,000 but well worth a read.
A Fiction book and a non-fiction book
For a fiction book I am choosing The Chrysalids by John Wyndham and for a non-fiction I am going with Persian Fire by Tom Holland – both of which I have read and enjoyed.
A way to romantic book and an action book
To be honest I don’t really read romance books but a book with fantastic romance is of course Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. For an action book, maybe The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
A book that made you happy and one that made you sad
I can’t actually pick one – reading in general makes me happy (in a non cheesy way) so any book that I enjoy. For a book that made me sad, I would have to go for The Book Thief. If you’ve read the book than you know what I mean – it is set in Germany during World War II.
So that is the opposite book tag. I had to really rack my brain for some of these – I swear it’s as if my mind goes completely blank when I’m trying to answer questions :). I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time.
