Intergalactic Book Tag

Good morning, today I have a tag for you. This tag was created by an array of booktubers – to be honest not entirely sure who but if you know feel free to let me know so I can give them credit. Let’s get started.
Space: Name a book that is out of this world – that takes place in a world different from our own.
I am going to go with the Inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini, which is set in Alagaesia. I love this series and the world is one of my favourite aspects of it. The map in the books is also one of my favourite maps.
Black Hole: Name a book that completely sucked you in.
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. It took me a little while but I got completely sucked into the story and characters. – I especially enjoyed the university setting.  Definitely recommend this series if you are into fantasy.
Lightspeed: Name a book you are anticipating so much that you wish you could travel at lightspeed to get to it.
I think I am going to cheat and choose two. Firstly, The Successor’s Son by Trudi Canavan, which is the third and final book in the Millennium’s Rule trilogy. Secondly Goldenhand by Garth Nix which is a continuation from the novella The Creature in the Case and will follow Lirael. Both are scheduled towards the end of the year and I cannot express my excitement for both.
Nebula: Name a book with a beautiful cover.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte – Vintage classics Bronte series edition. This is such a stunning edition and I did actually post a photo of this book on instagram.
Multiverse: Name a companion set or spinoff series you love.
I don’t know if it counts but I’m guessing it does as it is a sequel series and that is the Traitor Spy trilogy by Trudi Canavan – sequel to the Black Magician trilogy. I absolutely love Trudi Canavan so of course I enjoyed this trilogy.

Gravity: Name your favorite romantic pairing that seems to have gravitational pull to each other.

I don’t want to say the couple, because it is kind of a spoiler, but the main couple in the Study series by Maria V Snyder. If you have read the books then you will know what I mean.

The Big Bang: Name the book that got you started on reading.
One of the main books I remember getting me into reading is Sabriel by Garth Nix – after reading it I really got into fantasy and reading as a whole. I didn’t really read much as a child – it was only in my late teens that I started to read more and love it.
Asteroid: Name a short story or novella that you love.
The Emperor’s Soul by Brandon Sanderson is a great novella, set in the same world as Elantris (another great Sanderson book).
Galaxy: Name a book with multiple POVs.
The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan. It tells the story of conflict between the Chinese immigrant mothers and the American raised daughters. Although I struggled a bit to get into it, it was a very interesting book and I ended up really enjoying it.
Spaceship: Name a book title that would be a great name for a spaceship.
Annihilation – who wouldn’t be intimidated by that? 🙂
See you next time
Pippa

  1. This tag is so cool! I am going to steal it and do it on my blog! 🙂 I love your pick! Seriously though, Annihilation is a great name for a space ship! And now I feel like I need to pick the book up this Sunday when I am at my independent bookstore!

    1. We’ll considered yourself officially tagged 🙂 I know it’s a great name for a space ship and the book itself was really intriguing! I need to get my hands on the second book in the trilogy 🙂
