After trying out Fairy Loot box last month, I was very excited to learn about this months theme. I had intended to just try out the box last month, but I could not pass up this box as the theme of May was High Fantasy. If you have been following my blog for any length of time than you will know that I love fantasy, so this box was very exciting to me. Spoilers ahead if you haven’t received yours yet. You can subscribe for a month, three months or six months and each box contains one recently published hardback and 3-4 bookish goodies related to the monthly theme. Fairy Loot focuses on fantasy but you can expect contemporary, dystopian and historical fiction in the themes. A one month subscription costs £26 + shipping and the boxes are shipped around the 15th of each month – you will receive a dispatch email. Obviously shipping will vary and is calculated during the checkout. I am based in the UK and since FairyLoot is also UK based the shipping wasn’t too bad for my box but I don’t know what it is like for other countries. The theme of May was High Fantasy. What the May box with the theme of High Fantasy contains:
-
Game of Thrones Mystery Mini Funko – two editions were sent out. I got a mini Daenerys, who doesn’t look very happy :). Who did you get?
-
The Minimalist Legolas poster brought to you by Fairy Loot. Who doesn’t love Legolas? 🙂
-
Dragon Bracelet made exclusively for this High Fantasy box, a pastel dragon pocket mirror from MelissaNettleship (which is so cute) and an adorable Dragon Age sticker from SparksCrafts.
-
Along with the book, you get a personalised letter, bookmark, signed bookplate and art card from Amy (the author). I think this is such a nice touch!

This months book is Ruined by Amy Tintera. This months spoiler card tells me it is a tale of high fantasy, revenge, romance and dashing princes – the perfect blend of epic adventure and multi dimensional characters with an enchanting plot.
Overall I am really happy with this box. I have actually read the Reboot duology by Amy Tintera (I enjoyed it although it has some issues) so I am interested and excited to try out this new series – I didn’t actually realise she had a new book coming out. I am always open to trying new fantasy books so this box was perfect for me and I think they did such a great job with the box this month. The two boxes I have received have been amazing and I would definitely recommend getting a box. Next months theme (June) is Classics Twist – so think Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Unfortunately it has now been sold out, but you can get yourself on the waiting list for the July box here – the theme of July will be sent out in the newsletter soon so be sure to sign up to that if you are interested . You can also check them out on Twitter and Instagram, which I recommend as well. A Fairy Chat is also hosted on Twitter on the 2nd of each month about the past months theme and box.
Hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will see you next time.
Pippa
