Reading Resolutions 2016

I know I’m a little bit late in posting this, since its already the middle of February but I’m new to this whole blogging thing and I thought it would be a good post to start with. Before I get started I just wanted to note that I plan to be posting twice a week. Now let’s get started with my reading resolutions.
Read 100 books
Last year I managed to read over 100 books, so this year I have set my Goodreads challenge to 100 books in the hope I can achieve it once again. Now I’m not going to put to much pressure on myself with this, so this may change at some point during the year but we’ll see what happens. Are you guys doing the Goodreads challenge, if so how many books?
Read 12 classics
Basically I want to read a classic a month, at the very least. So far I don’t have any concrete plans as to which one to read each month, but I have some already on my bookshelf waiting for my attention including Mary Barton by Elizabeth Gaskell and Charlotte Bronte’s Villette . What is your favourite classic?
Read a Dicken’s novel
Speaking of classics I want to read at least one novel by Dicken’s this year. I read Great Expectation years ago for school and never really got into it, but I want to try some of his other books and possibly reread Great Expectation to see what I take from it now I’m older.
Read more diversely
This one is pretty self-explanatory. I want to read from a variety of authors and genres and try reading things that I may not usually reach for. I have a tendency to stick with my favourite genres, so this year I hope to widen my reading horizon.
Finish the Narnia series
I have read 3 of the books, but think it is about time that I finished this classic series. I have read The Magician’s Nephew, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian.
Finish the Poldark series
I have read the first eight books in the series, but I still have the last four books to read.
What are your reading resolutions for this year?
See you next time.
Pippa
